3 Ways Making Camping Easier Can Help You Live To 100

I love camping. In the first 6 months of 2022, I figured I’ve spent almost 30 days sleeping under the stars.

As a result, I’ve come up with several tricks to make it easier to go camping.

Here are three tips.

The first tip is to get a tent that you can stand up in. I’m six-foot and four inches tall which is tall enough to be an NBA player. So this is a challenge for me. But I solved it by using tarps instead of a tent.

However, there are many name-brand tents that are tall enough for the average person to standup in.

The second tip is to sleep on a cot. When I was in Boy Scouts, my dad was our Scoutmaster. He forbid us from sleeping on cots even though we were in Texas with snakes and scorpions. So when I got back into camping, I naturally didn’t sleep on a cot.

Then I realized this was dumb.

While I enjoy backpacking and bushcraft, there’s no reason not to sleep on a cot on a car camping trip with my friends.

The third tip is to keep things organized at home. My mother-in-law recently moved in with us after our father-in-law passed away. She told me that she is paying to have our garage organized as a way to thank us. Part of this organization will be to get me a spot for my camping gear.

Though a bonus organization tip is to leverage labeled plastic bins.
