3 Ways Making Camping Easier Can Help You Live To 100

I love camping. In the first 6 months of 2022, I figured I’ve spent almost 30 days sleeping under the stars.

As a result, I’ve come up with several tricks to make it easier to go camping.

Here are three tips.

The first tip is to get a tent that you can stand up in. I’m six-foot and four inches tall which is tall enough to be an NBA player. So this is a challenge for me. But I solved it by using tarps instead of a tent.

However, there are many name-brand tents that are tall enough for the average person to standup in.

The second tip is to sleep on a cot. When I was in Boy Scouts, my dad was our Scoutmaster. He forbid us from sleeping on cots even though we were in Texas with snakes and scorpions. So when I got back into camping, I naturally didn’t sleep on a cot.

Then I realized this was dumb.

While I enjoy backpacking and bushcraft, there’s no reason not to sleep on a cot on a car camping trip with my friends.

The third tip is to keep things organized at home. My mother-in-law recently moved in with us after our father-in-law passed away. She told me that she is paying to have our garage organized as a way to thank us. Part of this organization will be to get me a spot for my camping gear.

I also have an article about how to organize your camping gear on our camping blog but we’ll deep dive on that later.

Though a bonus organization tip is to leverage labeled plastic bins.

Will these tips help you live to 100? Who knows but if you camp more, you will enjoy the time you’re here on Earth more.

Beginner campers are often concerned about camping around bears. That’s why I created this course.
